It was chilling at 10 degrees Celcius that night. We quickly went inside as soon as a table checked out.
Although O' Mai Khan had tables set out outside, it was so called no one dared to take them.
O' Mai Khan had the most elegant interiors we've encountered during our trip to Baguio City. The lights were bright. Each table had a flower displayed in the middle. Beautiful portraits hanged on its walls. More importantly, it was warm and cozy.
All of us chose the Mongolian Barbeque where we could chose our own ingredients and pair them with our preferred sauces. Our self-made bowls will then be passed on to the chef who will grill everything.
After the rice, we were made to select our preferred meat. I didn't want to chose favorites so I chose all of them for my first bowl. Kurt did the same.
When I saw the fresh vegetable selections, I thought that the idea is brilliant. Of course, Baguio City offers fresh and affordable vegetables! Since I love vegetables, I filled my bowl with a lot of them.
♥ Mongolian Barbeque *Adult (250 php) |
O' Mai Khan offers 18 kinds of sauces. It was quite difficult to decide. I thought... the more choices, the more experiment it requires and the more chances of screwing up with the taste. I placed the following into my bowl:
- 1 scoop of Sugar Water
- 1 scoop of Garlic Sauce
- 2 scoops of Teriyaki Sauce
- 1 scoop of Chili Sauce
- 1 scoop of Onions
- 1 sprinkle of Sesame Seeds
- 3 pieces of Sweetened Pineapple
Egg (10 php) |
Since I had scrambled eggs and omelet that morning during our breakfast at Eurotel (see previous entry), I decided to skip the Egg.
The female server asked me whether I had placed any Spicy Sauce and rice inside my bowl. She also asked for my table number and then placed a number stub into my bowl and lined it up towards the grilling station. She then gave me a number so I can wait for my order at our table.
Kurt's first bowl |
If my bowl was more on veggies, Kurt and all our male companions enjoyed the meat. They were quite hungry from our light Vegetarian Lunch at Oh My Gulay! (see previous post) so they had three or four bowlfuls that night.
Unlike them, I only had two bowls. The second bowl was a Vegetable Galore with a few liver. For my second bowl, I mixed Garlic Sauce with Oyster Sauce which was a major mistake. It didn't taste good.
Drinks
Strawberry Sherbet (65 php) |
The Strawberry Sherbet was delicious! I really enjoyed it. I think the price is very cheap too. Too bad Kurt ditch their awesome refreshments for a can of soda because he was freezing that night due to his summer outfit. =p
Shirley Temple (40 php) |
Our friend Flow Galindez from Ansawariko.Com enjoyed his Shirley Temple too. It was 7up with cherry syrup.

O' Mai Khan's Mongolian Barbeque is a must try when visiting Baguio City. Whether you are a veggie or a meat lover, I'm sure you'll enjoy preparing your own dish. Plus, the fresh and tasty vegetables from Baguio City, gives this a unique experience from what other Mongolian restaurant in other places offer. We were all satisfied and full as we went back to our hotel.
