Oliva Bistro Cafe is a humble restaurant along Visayas Avenue, Quezon City. Based on the name, I initially had an impression that it would be items inspired with olives. But, I was proven wrong as I glance their menu. They offered a wide range of food selections that belonged to different cuisines. According to Chef Kannan, he gained his experience by working as a chef at hotel cafes where he was tasks to cook in international cuisine so he didn't want to specialize in just one.
Oliva Bistro Cafe is visible from outside through its large glass windows. Inside, it has posh booth along its custom-designed walls and cushioned wooden chairs on the opposite side. Overall, they give out a casual and cozy feel.
Appetizers
Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Dip (180 php) |
The Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Dip is a great starter. Although it was saucy, the chicken skin was perfectly crunchy. In terms of taste, I find it more on the tangy side rather than spicy. It went really well with the blue cheese dip. But, I prefer my buffalo wings with more zing in them.

The Linguine with Salmon and Spinach in Garlic Cream Sauce is the favorite dish for the night. It had a generous amount of fresh salmon bits, spinach, garlic and mushrooms. The garlic cream sauce was perfectly blended to complement the other components. It will leave you wanting for more.

Marble Cheesecake with Strawberry Coulis (120 php) |
♥ Warm Crepe Suzette with Vanilla Ice Cream (120 php) |
The Warm Crepe Suzette with Vanilla Ice Cream is one of the best crepes I've tried. The crepe was moist, warm and light. It was topped with orange peel and vanilla ice cream. It was pretty good. But, I prefer it with less sweet sauce.
Oliva Bistro Cafe is a great place to dine with family and friends. The place is a bit tricky to find bring tucked in one of the buildings along Visayas Avenue but certainly worth trying out. They serve delicious food in stylish plating. More importantly, they are reasonably priced.
