The family has noticed that we have not eaten crabs in awhile. We could have gone to any other buffet serving unlimited seafood but we decided to head over to The Red Crab Alimango House where crabs are their specialty. We've tried they ala carte menu before, but it was our first time to try their Seafood Market Buffet.
The Red Crab Alimango House in Greenbelt 3 has an indoor and al fresco area. Upon entry, we were ushered pass the buffet selections and unto our tables. It had wooden tables with large cushioned chairs. On every table is an empty bucket when the crab shell crackers are hanged. It was a busy Saturday afternoon for them as the place was packed.

Seafood Market Buffet (588++ php)
The buffet has a long linear setup organized from appetizer to desserts.

Cold Seafood Station |
By the entrance is the Cold Seafood Station were crabs and mussels were laid on a pool of iced water. The crabs were probably steamed and cooled. I enjoyed the crabs because they were naturally sweet. The mussels were good too.
After the Cold Seafood Station is the Sushi Bar. They had only two options during our visit: Califronia Maki and Kani Maki. Although the maki were made on the spot with certain intervals so you have to wait a bit, they felt too soggy and lacked in terms of flavor.
|
Salad Bar |
The Salad Bar had fresh lettuce, red onions, olives, red and green bell pepper, mangoes, carrots and capers.
|
Salad Bar and Finger Food Station |
They had four options for salad dressings too. They also had some finger foods like crab meat spring roll which is good but I only had a chance to try it once since the refills are hard to come by.

Siningang Station and Griller |
|
My Sinigang |
You can choose the ingredients you want to put in your Sinigang and have the chef on standby cook it for you. You can also indicate for how many people you want. I had mine filled with lots of vegetables and Bangus Belly. =D
|
Grill Station |
The Grill Station had both marinated and non-marinated options. Aside from the green and red bell pepper kebab, they had chicken, pork, squid and beef.
|
My Grilled Plate |
All the grilled options were good. The squid and dory fish was tender. The chicken barbecue and chicken inasal is flavorful and succulent.
|
Viands |
They offered an assortment of Viands which are mostly Filipino Cuisine. The highlight of this section is the Seafood Paella and the Crabs.
|
♥ Szechuan Crab |
They had two options for the crab,
Szechuan Crab and the other is steamed plainly. I skipped the latter since its substantially the same with the appetizer crabs except that it was served hot.
|
This is what I had |
Although the crabs were average sized, you could eat as much as you want. Taste-wise, some are sweet and some are not.
|
Desserts Station |
Their Dessert Station had fruits, cakes and Sorbetes or Ice Cream.
Since I was so stuffed, I opted for an ice cream in a cone served just like the street ice cream. They had the similar flavor choices too: cheese, chocolate and ube. The only difference is that manong sorbetero is a well-dressed waiter with a shiny red tie.

Our once empty bucket |
Judging from our bucket, how much crab do you think we ate? I don't usually eat crabs apart from home because I am often reluctant in getting my hands dirty. But, my hesitation quickly faded when I got to try my first crab claw. Plus, they did provide for a bib.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
The Red Crab Alimango House Seafood Market Buffet offers crabs to your hearts content. Although the selections are quite limited, its quite fulfilling because its complete with appetizer, salad, soup, grills, viands and desserts. The servers are nice and were attentive in getting the empty plates. But, the buffet service could still be improved by hastening the replenishment of the food and clean plates.
