Angeles Fried Chicken (AFC): More than Just Heavenly Chicken (Angeles Pampanga)

Angeles Fried Chicken or AFC has been serving it's famous chicken and other dishes recipe since the 1960's.  

It's old house facade with red and white motif is hard to miss when you're in the Balibago Angeles area.

It has a very spacious dining area.  It's interior reminds me of a classy Italian restaurant with red checkered linen covered tables.  But it was more casual since it was dim but without candle lights.

♥ Sizzling Sisig (175 php)

AFC's Sizzling Sisig is one of the best sisig I have ever tried!  It had a lot of scrumptious ingredients.  It was not fatty at all.  Everyone couldn't help but indulge in spoonfuls of it until the sizzling plate was emptied.

Chicharon Bulaklak (175 php)

The Chicharon Bulaklak is admittedly a sinful dish but one that's irresistible too.  This is a chewy kind of chicharon and not so crispy.  Gosh I'm guilty of eating so many of this fried fatty pig's mesentary.


Salads

♥ Crispy Chicken Salad (135 php)

 I loved the Crispy Chicken Salad!  It has crispy chicken tenders, fresh lettuce, carrot strips, mandarin orange slices, water chestnuts and green bell peppers.  It is served with vinaigrette.

All Time Favorites

Shanghai Lumpia (145 php)

The Shanghai Lumpia is a classic Filipino dish.  This rendition is remarkably tasty with a perfect crunchy wrapper too.

♥ Shrimp with Cashew Nuts (225 php)

The Shrimp with Cashew Nuts is one of the dishes I enjoyed the most.  It is an egg white based dish with tender small shrimps, celery, onions, carrots, cashew nuts and green peas.

Camaron Rebosado (225 php)

The Camaron Rebosado is my least favorite.  Everything on the platter was oily and soggy rather than crispy as I expected it to be.

Pancit Canton (145 php)

Growing up in a culture that eats noodles often, I have a high standard for this dish.  Yet, I was impressed with this version of Pancit Canton.  The key is the variety and quality of the ingredients.

Rice

Chicken Fried Rice (120 php)

The Chicken Fried Rice is a soy-based rice dish with scrambled egg, soft chicken bits and green peas.

♥ Regular Angeles Fried Chicken Family 9 pcs. (425 php)

The Regular Angeles Fried Chicken is almost the same as KFC's.  What I like about this is that the chicken is fresh.  You can tell by the juiciness and flavor of the chicken meat.  But, I found it a bit oily and salty.  The soft rolls and fresh coleslaw were great!

♥ Japanese Fried Chicken (195 php)

The Japanese Fried Chicken is my favorite!  It had an addictive soy-based flavor and chewy skin that captivated me. 

Grilled Chicken (165 php)

The Grilled Chicken was tender and tasty.  But compared to the other chicken dishes, this has the least impact.


Drinks

♥ Iced Tea (Pitcher) (99 php)

The Iced Tea is house blend.  It was so good that I'm glad we had a pitcher-full of it.
